Data Usage

Christopher Olander Apr 03, 2012 12:56PM PDT

If I use Apple IOS5 iMessage on my iPhone, it uses the Internet, and my cell provider does not see it as a used text message against my plan. If I use texting or sms clients, my carrier sees them as, and charges for them as, text messages.

Important to me and other users is: are my Pair messages text messages, for which I pay, or iMessages, for which I do not?

I can use Pair on my wifi iPad so the answer to that is it's like iMessage. Or Twitter. Or Facebook Messages.

Hey guys,

Messages that you send through Pair are like iMessage - they don't add to your texting account. However, photos and videos will add up as data usage - be aware of your data limits.
